Background

HeartSuite is a fully integrated patient management system designed specifically for paediatric cardiology and cardiothoracic surgery which provides an on-line electronic medical record which runs 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, recording and producing real time information on all aspects of patients care. Used by the majority of specialist Paediatric Cardiac centres in the UK,HeartSuite allows comprehensive clinical audit information to be gathered as a by-product of a more efficient and effective service for your patients.

HeartSuite was designed to the requirements of leading UK paediatric cardiologists, surgeons and other staff over the last 20 years. In a particularly complex specialty HeartSuite is a constantly evolving, flexible system which allows all relevant data to be available to clinicians in the form of a virtual patient record.

HeartSuite was initially designed to the requirements of the Scottish Cardiac Service at the children’s hospitals in Glasgow and Edinburgh 9 years ago and was subsequently successfully installed at Birmingham Children’s Hospital and Southampton General Hospital. In December 2003 HeartSuite was installed at Guys Hospital in London and Bristol Children’s Hospital. In 2004 HeartSuite was implemented at the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children.

HeartSuite is a constantly evolving, flexible system that allows all relevant data to be available to clinicians in the form of a virtual patient record. HeartSuite is a unique product in that it has been developed exclusively for the use in the care and management of congenital heart disease patients. This means that we are fully committed to the field and continue to develop and improve HeartSuite in the rapidly changing specialty within the UK.

It is used to manage the care of ACHD patients at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, Bristol Royal Infirmary and Southampton General Hospital. In October 2006 the Adult Congenital Heart Disease service at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham implemented HeartSuite. This unit was the second to be established in the UK and with over 2000 patients is one of the largest. HeartSuite has now been developed with a number of ACHD specific features and existing hardware has been used to greatly reduce the costs.

In 2010 HeartSuite was installed at the Golden Jubilee hospital in Clydebank in order to manage the ACHD service for the West of Scotland.

In 2016 HeartSuite was implemented to help manage the East Midlands Congenital Heart Centre.

HeartSuite continues to be developed constantly both to improve and extend it's clinical functionality as well as many interfaces with other systems.
